Friday 24th: Sign-making in support of the trans community

❤️
Content Warning: Transphobia, Bigotry, and Hate Speech

We invite everyone to join us for a sign-making event this Friday, 6pm at Unleash Space. This event is in addition to our scheduled event (Lego city-building night) and is in support of the counter-protest against anti-trans campaigner Posie Parker. All signs and craft supplies will be provided free of charge.

We stand with our trans, non-binary, and Irawhiti whānau. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their gender identity.

This event is open to all, including new members and non-students. The sign-making event will run in parallel to our originally scheduled Lego city-building night, so there will be time to participate in both or choose which event to attend.

Furthermore, we will be organizing a group to meet at Unleash Space at 10:00am on Saturday to walk to the Albert Park counterprotest together. If you are unable to attend the sign-making event on Friday, we will try to have additional signs available for anyone who can join us on Saturday.

We hope to see you at our sign-making event on Friday night and at the counter-protest on Saturday morning in Albert Park.

In solidarity,
The Maker Club.
