Cardboard Forts and Terrible Hack are around the horizon!

Get ready for some action packed weeks!!

Cardboard Forts and Terrible Hack are around the horizon!
Come build a castle!!

⛏️ This Friday, March 7th, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM, we’re bringing Minecraft to life—block by cardboard block. Gather your crew, craft your fortress, and defend it with all your might… because something big is lurking in the shadows. 👀

We have:
🗺️ Endless cardboard biomes to shape your kingdom
🛠️ Over a kilometre of tape to reinforce your stronghold
💰 A tape merchant (still overpricing, of course)

Will your fortress stand the test of time? Or will it all come crumbling down by the end of the night? Only one way to find out.

📍 Location: Engineering Atrium L3 (401-318, 20 Symonds St)
📅 Date: Friday, March 7th
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM (Be prompt – the clock starts at 6:30 sharp!)

⚠️ Build wisely. You never know what might be unleashed when the night is over... 😏

With a consistency almost as shocking as Auckland's inability to build housing, Terrible Ideas is returning for 2025! We've pinned down the date for March 14th-16th.

The Terrible Ideas Hackathon is a 46 hour challenge to come up with and create the most fantastically terrible things. It's a weekend to stretch your creative muscles, and for many their first experiences making something with friends. Past projects have included a three-seater mobility couch, clip on bike jandals, and a kettle with ad breaks.

This event is open to anyone and everyone - students, alumni, your neighbour, your neighbour's cat, and even a friend of your cousin who you met that one time at the family get-together and you weren't entirely sure why they were there but you enjoyed their presence nonetheless.

You're welcome to come with a friend or on your own - there will be plenty of opportunities for mingling and assembling teams on Friday night.
